THE HARGER FAMILY

The Hargers left chilly Anchorage Alaska to spend some time in Sunny Puerto Vallarta.  Deep-sea fishing was a must and they thought that they would like to try a combination day of sailing and snorkeling.  They chose the SEA BREEZES and sailed towards the Marietas islands.  Unfortunately, our nasty little bloom of red tide made the snorkeling less than ideal, and an unusually calm afternoon made a brisk sail nearly impossible.  But that is sailing and Phil truly thinks that twin turbo diesel engines, a boat that is not so skinny and outriggers instead of a mast is the way to go.

The entire Harger family chartered the ANTICIPATION and enjoyed 12 hours of deep-sea fishing.  Orion Harger caught the sailfish in the above photo.  Sister Jess brought in a nice Dorado.   Dave and the sons, John and Orion just had to give it another day so they chartered the LADY BUG with Daniel and went out looking for a Marlin.  They hooked and lost (or caught and released, however you want to see it) a huge Marlin.  Dave eventually caught a 250 pound Yellowfin tuna, a sailfish and 3 Dorado.  Dad had to fly back so the boys went for  a second day on the LADY BUG.  That big Marlin was still out there and they were hell bent on getting him this year.  Well, instead they caught a Sail, 2 Tuna and the biggest Dorado of the year.  The Hargers managed to take enough fish back to Alaska to supplement their salmon diet for the season.
